Top Ten Tuesday #33: Characters I’d Follow On Social Media

Hey guys! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, which is currently being run by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.  I knew instantly that I wanted to take part in this weekly meme because who doesn’t love making lists?

This week’s (February 25th, 2020) topic is: Characters I’d Follow On Social Media

Artwork by Unknown

Meredy and Lysander (Reign of the Fallen)

This was the easiest one for me honestly! Who wouldn’t want to follow a beastmaster and her bear?!?!?!? They love each other so very much and would do legit anything for one and another.  I need a Youtube from Meredy and Lysander!

Artwork by Niru

The Darkling (Shadow and Bone Trilogy )
I feel like a bunch of people will have him on their list because he is GLORIOUS!

Artwork by Phantom Rin

Mal (Shadow and Bone Trilogy)
Why is my most hated character of all-time on here? So, I can harass him for all time and call him WHINY BABY BLAND BOY! because I’m mature like that.  Kid ruined my books, I’ll ruin his LIFE! Muahahhahahaha

Artwork by Nicole Deal

Lalia (Gilded Wolves)
I mean just look at her! I’d follow her just to see what amazing looks she had going on and the woman is sassy, so I think she’d have a great profile.

Artwork by Pink Tofu Art

Lei and Wren (Girls of Paper and Fire)
I would like to follow them as a couple! I just adore them, one of my favorite f/f relationships in YA fantasy for sure.

Artwork by MD?

Cath (Heartless)
Before the Queen of Hearts became what she is today, she was just Cath – a sweet young girl that loved to bake and damn could she bake! I love Food Network shows, so I think Cath could get me as a follower on a Youtuber channel!

Artwork by MEABHD

Iko (The Lunar Chronicles)
Iko was born (errr built?) for social media! Her personality is everything and she is all about fashion.  I could totally see her as a beauty guru, and one that’d I’d actually follow.

Artwork by Unknown

Alosa and Riden (Daughter of the Pirate King)

I need a banter couple in here and this fits the bill perfectly! No one does banter like these two.  I would love to see them do any social media together, it would be quite the ride I think.

Would you follow any of these characters? Who would be your most followed?  Let me know in the comments!

New Year, New Goals! 2020, let’s do this!

I know I’m late, late, late but I still want to do this! Last year I failed on a lot of my goals but this year I’m completely determined to get a bunch done.  I’m also going to be keeping it realistic and not killing myself with insane long lists of stuff that I have to read.  I find that the second I make lists of too much, I rebel instantly and am like, “you can’t make me!” It’s a whole scene – let’s not talk about it LOL Alright, so what bookish goals am I aiming for this year? Let’s get into them!

ARC Review: The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

My rating:
 4 out of 5 stars
Genre: Adult Mystery
Pages: 384
Pacing: Normal
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Published:  August 6th, 2019

When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss—a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten—by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare—one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

 5 out of 5 stars

Trigger Warnings: Loss of a loved one, PTSD nightmares, violence, anxiety and threats of being institutionalized.

All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power.

book haul
This haul is long overdue, but I’m finally starting to get my shit together and post all the hauls I’ve had over the last couple months – so look out for more! In June, I got it in my head that this year I’m going to start reading some romantic contemporary.  I know – I swear I am not a pod person! I actually don’t have a ton of experience with light contemporary because I’ve never taken much of an interest in it till recently.  In June, I went to my local bookstore – Indigo/Chapters and they had a good sale going – buy three books and get one free, so obviously I had to go nuts and spend a couple hundred dollars I didn’t have because I have zero self-control.
