Down the TBR Hole #2

down the tbr hole

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! This meme was created to try and get a handle on your TBR list and get it down to a more manageable number.  If you see any that you think I should keep or one that you think it’s worth my time, please let me know! It helps greatly! I’m so indecisive about these things and I think I need to read ALL THE BOOKS!

5 books longer

How it works:
Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
Order on ascending date added.
Take the first 5 (or more if you’re feeling adventurous) books
Read the synopses of the books
Decide: keep it or should it go?

My TBR is beyond massive, I could easily be buried alive under it LOL I’m going to do 10 books a week for now.  I may increase that as time goes on we shall see.   Ok, let’s see how this week goes!

TBRHole2

The Giver by Lois Lowry
I’m surprised I haven’t gotten to this one yet.  I have a pocket mass paperback copy and I hate it.  I really need to get a better copy so I have more incentive to read it.
Final Decision: Keep!

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams Las year I picked up a really cool Barnes and Noble collector’s edition to this series.  I really want to get to it eventually.
Final Decision: Keep

Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
I’m honestly over Dean, so I think I’ll just unhaul this one.
Final Decision: Remove

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
I do have a copy of this and it has been on my radar for awhile but it’s really far down my TBR right now.  I’ll keep this one for now and reassess it in a year or two.
Final Decision: Keep

The Goose Girl (The Books of Bayern #1) by Shannon Hale
I have to admit that I get Shannon Hale and Gail Carson Levine mixed up all the time.  I’ve actually never read Hale, but I have a bunch of her books – including the four books in this series.  I know I’ll get to it at some point.
Final Decision: Keep

TBRHole2-1

Tricker’s Choice (Daughter of the Lioness #1) by Tamora Pierce
Planning on getting to Tamora’s books in the next year or two.
Final Decision: Keep!

Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones
Honestly, I have a stack of Jones books and instead of having 100 of them appear on these posts, I’m going to skip them all because I’m keeping them all.  I’ve always been a big fan of Jones and have read many of her novels as a teen and plan on bingeing her stuff in the next year maybe.
Final Decision: Keep!

Snow White and Rose Red by Patricia C. Wrede
I forgot all about this one and I know I have it in mass market paperback (which I hate), so I guess it’s time to unhaul!
Final Decision: Remove

Spindle’s End by Robin McKinley
I haven’t read McKinley’s books in many years but I still find it sad that a lot of YA readers don’t seem to know who she is.  She was a very popular YA author years ago and is the queen of retellings.  I’ll get around to this one someday.
Final Decision: Keep!

The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley
I read this MANY years ago and know I loved it but remember literally nothing about it.  I recently bought it again on Bookoutlet, so I’ll be checking it out!
Final Decision: Keep!

Final Thoughts: Yet another week where I removed two out of ten, wonder if it will be a trend with me!
