Top Ten Tuesday #44: Books on Our Fall 2019 TBR

top ten tuesday

Hey guys! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, which is currently being run by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.  We knew instantly that we wanted to take part in this weekly meme because both of us love making list, so this is perfect!

This week’s (September 24th, 2019) topic: Books on Our Fall 2019 TBR

Royal Bastards Trilogy by Andrew Shvarts
I read and love the first in this series when it came out, but I haven’t gone any further.  I plan on getting this trilogy done before the year ends.

The Folk of the Air trilogy by Holly Black
This is another one that I read and loved the first book when it came out.  I didn’t go any further because I heard there was a horrible cliffhanger in Wicked King and I hate that – so I want all the books to be out so I can just get them all done.  I’ve been reading all of Holly’s fae books this year, so this will 100% get done.

Contagion and Immunity by Erin Bowman
I’ve wanted to read these for a bit now, so I’m hoping to get to them in either October or November.

Girls of Storm and Shadow (Girls of Paper and Fire #2) by Natasha Ngan
I’m so excited for this one – I’ll be reading my arc of this very soon.  I need more Lei and Wren in my life and Natasha is fast becoming a favorite author of mine.

The Near Witch by V.E. Schwab
I’m not 100% sure if this one will actually happen but I do really want to read it.  Schwab is totally queen for me and I’ve been starring at the re-released book since I picked it up earlier this year.

Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell
If this isn’t the perfect graphic novel for Aumtumn I don’t know what is. I adore Rainbow and am so excited to read this story. It looks like the cutest thing ever. The artwork looks great, just the perfect combo.

These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling
I’ve been meaning to read this one since it came out and have been waiting for this period of the year. Witches and Vampire books are my jam. I’ve heard many good things about this one so hoping to get to it in October.

Shadow School by J.A. White
I bought this Middle Grade fairly recently and it looks so much fun. Melanie has read it and really enjoyed it so I’m excited to get to it. The physical book is just so gorgeous. Middle Grade do get the best covers don’t they?

Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin
I’m still waiting for my book to get here, I got it in a book box but people are raving about it and it is making me excited to read it. Like I said Witches and Vampires are my jam.

The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh
From the moment I heard about this book I knew I needed it. I am a huge fan of Anne Rice and her Vampire Chronicle and this one gave me those same vibes.

  1. “The Beautiful” seems to be getting LOTS of hype because it’s a vampire book, so I think readers that liked “Twilight” are hoping this one will help to revive all those fangirl bookworm feels. Hope you both enjoy all of your TBR reading – and thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland. 🙂

  2. Shadow School looks so much fun! I love a good middlegrade book. Pumpkinheads is on it’s way to me and I can’t wait but tracking says it will take way into October until it’s here. Have fun with your reads!

  3. Great pick, it seems that everyone is excited for Serpent & Dove, and The Beautiful. I read The Cruel Prince it’s amazing, I have yet to read The Wicked King, I’m planing to read it after The Queen of Nothing comes out.

  4. I truly loved The Cruel Prince! And cannot wait to read Girls of Storm and Shadow. Wish I could get my hands on an ARC but alas, haha.

And The Beautiful! I’ve been waiting for vampires to make a reappearance in the bookish universe for aaaaaaages. Can’t believe it’s finally happening! 😀

    1. I’m so glad you loved Cruel Prince – I did as well. I’m nervous to read Wicked King – cliffhangers are so hard! Aw I’m sorry you didn’t get the arc for Girls, I got really lucky with that one. Thankfully it’s being released soon!!! I already have it pre-ordered lol

Right? Vampires and hopefully not shiny ones! I need my real vampires – I’m so glad they are makinga comeback!

      1. Pretty sure I both hated and loved the ending of The Wicked King but.. that’s to be expected if you love a series so much. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if there’s a cliffhanger or not, you simply need the sequel stat! 😛
Getting ARC’s when in Belgium is.. difficult. I got the ARC for the first book at YALC. Pretty much the highlight of my London trip in 2018. Pre-order: check!

Hahah, exactly. There is absolutely NO need for shiny vampires.

  5. Both of you have great lists! After reading a bit more horror, I want to try Contagion. I’ve heard amazing things and October is a good month for books like that. Pumpkinheads is one I recently purchased and I’m pretty excited.
And I have the ARC of The Beautiful, hope to read it this weekend.

  6. I’m pretty much literally with both of you on all of these. SO MANY good books coming out this fall, and not nearly enough time! The Beautiful is one I didn’t put on my list, mostly because I don’t know if/when I’m going to get to read it. 😦

Be glad you waited to read The Wicked King. I am suffering until November now.

Also I have Serpent & Dove…I just need to read it!

  7. Can I just say how much I LOVE the title Royal Bastards? That book sounds great. I so need to read The Near Witch, too!

These Witches Don’t Burn sounds soooo good, and I can’t wait to get my hands on that one, too! And I’ve heard such good things about Serpent & Dove.

    Hope you both enjoy!

  8. This is a great TBR list! Yeah, the wicked king does end with a huge cliffhanger and I’m so excited for the next book. Contagion is also on my TBR list! I’ll look forward to hear your thoughts on it, Melanie. Hope you enjoy it! I also can’t wait to read The Beautiful, and Serpent and Dove, Mireille! Let’s hope we both love these two! 🙂

  9. I have been wanting to read the Royal Bastards series for a while. Isn’t it finished now? If so, I think it would be the perfect time for me to start. Hope you guys read and love all these books.
