Top Ten Tuesday #38: Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With

top ten tuesday

Hey guys! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, which is currently being run by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.  We knew instantly that we wanted to take part in this weekly meme because both of us love making list, so this is perfect!

This week’s (August 13th, 2019) topic: Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With

5 books longer

This is kind of a funny topic to me because most of my favorite characters I probably wouldn’t want to be friends with.  They either are always in danger, dangerous themselves or way too drama for my life LOL I’ve tried to come up with a realistic list that is very me though lol

Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh)
Yes, he’s an animal but he can talk and he is totally relatable and chill.  I love him because he wants to be included and that’s it.  He just wants people to accept that he is just a chill, depressed little guy.  He also feels like he would totally respect your boundaries on bad days.

Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
I think we’ll see Ms. Luna on most lists today.  She is just pure and lovely and I feel like she would bring so much to my life.  In a world full of negativity – she’s just a spark of light that reminds you that good people do exist.  I love her with my whole heart.

Tilly (Tilly and the Book Wanderers)
Most people won’t know this one but I would have loved to be Tilly’s friend as a child.  Hell, I’d love to be her friend now.  She has a special skill of book wandering – meaning she can go into any book and just kind of wander around and check it out and talk to the characters – she can also bring others with her.  She might get me into a little trouble but I think I’d be down for this.

Meredy & Lysander (Reign of the Fallen)
Ok, this one is a bit dangerous but she is strong headed so she wouldn’t let me get into trouble with her anyway.  I’m mostly using Meredy to get to her bear LYSANDER! He is a big grizzly that is her companion/warrior bear and I loves him so much.  I will bearsit for her when she needs a vacation.

Anyone (Tea Dragon Society)
These are my kind of people and my kind of world.  I just want to live in this place – it’s beautiful and peaceful and lovely.  I also need a wee little tea dragon of my own so very badly.

MiaNeverN(Phantom Rim)

Mia Corvere (Nevernight)
I mean is anyone surprised? Mia is my girl, I would love to hang out with her and Mr Kindly just sitting on Godsgrave rooftops and talking.

Alex Claremont-Diaz (Red, White and Royal Blue)
How fun would it be to hang out with Alex and the gang? Honestly, I just want t to be there to gush over him and Henry’s romance.

Inej 2
(Shalizeh 7)

Inej Ghafa (six of Crows)
I adore Inej, she’s just this cool very deadly character. Plus I feel it would be fun talking smack with her and Nina

violet devouring gray(Lesyablackbird)

Violet Saunders (The Devouring Gray
I just discovered Violet a month or so ago but she’s just my kind of girl. She doesn’t give a rat’s arse about anything.

luna Charlie Baudeigne

Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
Luna is one of the characters I identify with the most. She just does her own thing and doesn’t care. It would be so fun to go chase nargles with her.

  1. Luna is such a light in a dark world and I love her. If I had done 11 or 12 she would probably be on that list. I’ve heard of most of these books but never read them. I loved this!!! Here is my post-

  2. This put an incredibly dopey grin on my face because SO MANY GREAT PICKS. But, Luna above all else!! I wanted to include her on my list too but I ended up sticking with the golden trio because it felt right to include my original squad goals, you know? Ahh.

P.S., Melanie–I love that you included Eeyore. I used to have overalls with him on the front when I was a kid and I’m a TOTAL softie for him even now.

  3. Eeyore is such a great choice! He was my favourite character in Winnie the Pooh for sure. He is totally so chill, I feel like you could go to him with your deepest darkest fears and leave the conversation completely chilled out.
Okay. I haven’t read The Tea Dragon Society, but I’ve seen it pop up a few times and it just looks so cute and now I’m just going to have to buy it. XD
The Devouring Gray is a book that’s been on my radar too. Looks like I’m going to have to go buy some books! XD Oh noooooo. *is over joyed*

  4. Such lovely choices! My favourite characters are usually not bestie-material either hahaha They’re either anti-heroes/heroines and absolutely impossible/frustrating, or just too difficult to bear. But they’re just so much fun! I love them 🙂
    Amazing post!

  5. I had the same issue with picking characters, most of my favorite ones don’t seem like they would be great friends.
Luna is so quirky and funny I would love her as a friend!
I really really need to read Nevernight soon.
