Ya’ll ready for the season premier of Game of Thrones tonight? Who are you rooting for to take the Iron Throne? I don’t even know anymore but if they kill off Sansa, I’m rioting!!!
Since the very last season of Game of Thrones starts TONIGHT! I thought it would be fun to do a GoT book tag, so I looked around for one and found this. I’ve tweeked anything that was dated and updated it for the purpose of this post.
The Game of Thrones Book Tag was originally created by Biblio Nyan.
Nicola Yoon books. I really enjoyed both Everything Everything and The Sun is Also a Star, but when I look back – I have no idea why. They weren’t anything special to me and there were many problems with both of them. I guess in the moment they seemed amazing and kind of lost their shine over time. I’m sure I’ll still pick up Nicola’s next book though.
Obviously I’m changing this one to 2019 and this is a pretty hard question but I have my 100% answer and that is Finale by Stephanie Garber. I’m a complete sucker for this series and I’m dying to see how it all ends. Also, please answer this finally – WHO THE HELL IS LEGEND REALLY?!?!?!
I’m going Wicked Saints by Emily A Duncan with this one. I fell in love when I read the ARC of this book earlier this year and I thought it was an amazing new series. I felt like ti was a great introduction and didn’t really suffer from very many pacing issues and the plot and characters were everything. This one will 100% make my top ten this year, I’m sure.
I’m going to go for Paper Princess (The Royals #1) by Erin Watt. Yes, this is a trash series and super problematic but I had a good time with it one afternoon – it was a quick, silly read. However, the ending made me want to throw the book at the nearest wall. Not only was it an annoying cliffhanger, but I then knew where the second book was heading and all the stupid confusion and misunderstandings we’d have to endure. It wasn’t a good cliffhanger for me at all.
Oh god, so many. The one that sticks out to me all the time though is The Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I know when this came out it was quite beloved in the YA fantasy community. I wasn’t reading YA at the time, so it passed me by completely but I still have some interest in the book and it’s been on my shelf for years. Maybe in 2019 it will actually happen – probably wishful thinking but you never know!
Oh boy, I have literally no idea. Intensity by Dean Koontz comes to mind but it wasn’t really graphic. Last year I read a really graphic YA horror novel that really didn’t hold back and all and much of the violence had to do with children – it was honestly a bit shocking that it was considered YA but I really enjoyed the story all the same. It was Devils Unto Daughters by Amy Lukavics. This one is not for the faint of heart and major trigger warnings for extreme violence, gore and harm/death against children.
This one will come to no surprise to those who know me and no, it’s not Potter (though a very good contender), it’s one of my favorites My Lady Jane By Cynthia Hand, Brodi Aston, and Jodi Meadows. This book is just full of little easter eggs and hilarious moments, I’ve only read this one twice but the second time around was honestly even better because I noticed even more. I’m sure I’ll feel the same when I head in for my third and fourth read as well.
I’m not going to tag anyone because I honestly have no clue who watches GoT or not but if you’d like to give this tag a try, then considered yourself tagged!!
Hope you all enjoy Game of Thrones tonight and fingers and toes crossed that we don’t lose any of our favorites tonight. At least leave the last damn Dire Wolf alone PLEASEEE! My heart can’t take another Dire Wolf loss! Stop it already!
This looks likes a fun tag! I loved your answers! I enjoyed Everything, Everything but honestly it isn’t worth a re-read. I’m super excited for Finale! I totally agree with you on Paper Princess cliffhanger! I recently finished The Wicked Saints and I absolutely loved it! I haven’t read My Lady Jane but I’ve heard great things about it!

Oh that is so awesome! If you want to do the tag, please consider yourself tagged! It was a really fun one to do! I’m hoping to do more tags in the future. I always see ones I want to do but then I lose them and have no idea where I saw them at LOL
Ugh, Paper Princess cliffhanger was annoying as hell. I’m so excited that you loved Wicked SAints!!!

Nice tag. I watched the first episode and it wasn’t for me so never seen any after that one.

I completely agree with you about My Lady Jane. Not only is it a good book but it evolves and seems better each time you read it. I love that book and love the series as a whole even if they don’t follow the same characters!

Great answers! 🙂 I honestly didn’t like Everything, Everything and I don’t see the hype, so I agree with you there. I’m also super excited for Finale! I can’t wait to read Wicked Saints as well.
