Top Ten Tuesday #22: Bingeworthy TV Shows/Amazing Movies

Hey guys! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, which is currently being run by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl.  We knew instantly that we wanted to take part in this weekly meme because both of us love making list, so this is perfect!

This week’s (April 9th, 2019) topic is: We weren’t really feeling the topic this week, so we went ahead and chose a backlist topic – Bingeworthy TV Shows/Amazing Movies

Since there are two of us running this blog (Melanie and Mireille), we’re going to break these memes up between us and each pick five!

Ru Paul’s Drag Race
Yas! Work! I’m a sucker for Drag Race.  I discovered it a couple years ago and I will never admit how many times I’ve watched past episodes, Youtube videos, etc… Completely obsessed.  Season 5, 6  and All-Stars 2 will forever be my favorites.
Also, incase you are curious, my favorite queens are: Alyssa Edwards, Katya, Jinx Moonson, Aja, BenDeLaCreme and Shangala.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
My favorite show of all-time.  This show is still as relevant today as it was when it came out.  The witty dialogue, the incredible cast and the metaphor for all things growing up.  Perfection.

The Good Place
One of the smartest and funniest shows out there right now, in my opinion.  I have no idea how they keep coming up with storylines – the show is fast and fresh.  It has a very diverse and talented cast and Kristen Bell is just the cutest.

The Golden Girls
Yeah, going a little old school on this one but it’s show that should not be overlooked! It was made in the 80s and it’s STILL ahead of its time, even today.  Also, Betty White – need I say more?

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)
I am an 80s kid and grew up on the original She-ra so I was so wary when they said a new one was coming but damnit – it’s freaking amazing.  All kinds of fun characters, great adventures and more diversity than you can shake a stick at (including LGBT+).  The show writer is Noelle Stevenson who you might know from her graphic novels – Nimona and Lumber Janes.

Doctor Who
This is my favourite show, I absolutely adore and at least think about it once a day. Don’t ask me who my favourite Doctor is, I can’t choose.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
This is one of the funniest shows out there. I just love the goofiness of it.

Brooklyn 99
Since last year I think I binged this series at least 6 times. I am so happy they were picked up again. It has one of the most diverse cast on TV today.

Marvel MCU
I know I am cheating with this one but honestly I can’t choose. I usually binge a couple of them at  time. I just love hoe they made them all connect to tell a story and kept true to the comics at the same time.

Star Wars Universe
I was raised on Star Wars. I remember watching the first trilogy when I was younger and than later on the prequels (I know, no one likes to talk about those). I am so happy that we are able to revisit this amazing universe with new movies.

What are some shows or movies that you binge watch?

  1. I have never watched any of these shows. I do binge watch movies. When its the MI series or the Pirates of the Caribbean series tele-casted back to back, I refuse to leave the couch 🙂

  2. I agree with Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Buffy. I’m old enough to of watched Buffy when it was first aired and just one episode a week. My youngest is also called Xander (not because of the series though but because my hubby wanted Alexander and I didn’t want it shorted to Alex so we opted just to go with Xander) I did always say though if I had a girl I would of called her Willow as I loved the name. I’ve never liked Doctor Who and couldn’t get into The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt unfortunately.

  3. I absolutely LOVED the She-ra reboot! It was everything my little heart wanted. If you like good cartoons with good lgbtq rep check out Steven Universe. It’s one of my all time favorite shows.

  4. THREE CHEERS for all the MCU!! Love those movies even though it’s bound to end in a way that will break my fangirl heart. Also, I did start to watch ‘Kimmie’ but never went back. It’s cute as I remember. Thanks so much for the Finding Wonderland visit last week! 🙂
