Hey guys! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, which is currently being run by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. We knew instantly that we wanted to take part in this weekly meme because both of us love making list, so this is perfect!
This week’s (March 12th, 2019) topic is: Standalone Books That Need a Sequel
Since there are two of us running this blog (Melanie and Mireille), we’re going to break these memes up between us and each pick five!
The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth
Would love to know what happens to these characters but I debate if really needs a sequel. I want one regardless lol
Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller
I think this could easily have a sequel. I can’t really say why because it would be very spoiler but there is a lot that could be done here.
Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James
If you’ve read this book then you know why I want a sequel. This book was made to have a sequel – that ending. Please…..
Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
I know the author has said the publisher wouldn’t let her do anymore but I don’t understand why. It has so much more to offer, it makes me sad.
Gunslinger Girl by Lyndsay Ely
Not sure if this needs a sequel per se but I’d love to see a companion book or more characters in this world setting.
I just noticed that I don’t read a lot of standalones lol, so I have only 4 for this weeks TTT.
Beneath the Citadel by Destiny Soria
I read this one this year and absolutely adored it. I was sad when I saw that there wasn’t a follow up book. Even with the way it ended I think there could be a sequel.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
This is one of my favourite novel and I would love a where are they now. I’d love to see Cather and Levi again.
The Light Betweeen Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth
Again one that are the end of it I would love to know where the characters are at now.
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
I know we are getting a companion novel, but I am dying to know what happens to Eelyn and Fiske.
I think Laura is writing another book that’s set to release in 2019, but maybe it’s independent of this world. Just picked up ‘Ravens,’ so I’m hopeful it’ll be a good read – and in fact, I saw it on someone else’s list today too. 🙂
Happy Top Ten Tuesday, and thanks so much for the visit to Finding Wonderland.

I believe Laura’s new book is independent of the Woodlands universe

A Treason of Thorns I think is set in Victorian times. I know it’s definitely a different universe.

Yes, it is independent of the world but I’m so excited for it. She is such a wonderful writer and a lovely person as well. Thank you for stopping by as well!

I agree, she is so sweet. She sent me a card for pre-ordering her book and she remembered who I was and commented about seeing me on Twitter!

Fangirl would be really interesting . I’d be intrigued to see what happened next.

I just want to see them be happy and drinking coffee and reading Simon Snow.

I’d like to see more of Eelyn and Fiske too! I’d be onboard for that sequel! 🙂
Same with Fangirl. And The Loneliest Girl in the Universe is on my list to read soon. Can’t wait…

I feel like Sky in the Deep could’ve been a series and I would’ve been happy with that. It still tied in pretty well but I wanted so much more. Not greedy at all 😂

Loneliest Girl is really cool and gives you lots of claustrophobia lol

Ohh I’m glad you liked Beneath the Citadel! I haven’t heard much about it but it sounds so good. And the fact that both of you chose The Light Between Worlds is reminding me that I should really get to it!

Both are so so good. Beneath the Citadel was such a fun read with great diversity representation.

It’s such a good book. Female vikings for the win!

I love Cath and Levi, Fangirl is my favourite contemporary, I could definitely read more about those two!

I could totally see Beneath the Citadel having a sequel and I am now forever bitter about An Enchantment of Ravens. I loved that world.

Same about Ravens. I know the author said she wanted to write more and it’s on so many lists so I don’t get how it’s not happening.

Fangirl made my list this week too. An Enchantment of Ravens seems to be really popular this week as needing a sequel, but I haven’t read it yet.

Great list! I’d love to read a sequel for Sky in the Deep and Enchantment of Ravens, I feel like there’s so much more potential in both 😊

There really is and they both seem to have enough of a following. I’m seeing them on so many lists this week!

I totally agree with An Enchantment Of Ravens and Warrior Of The WIld! Those two are amazing reads! I didn’t know Gunslinger Girl was a stand-alone because that book ended with some unresolved questions. I haven’t read Sky In The Deep but it’s on my TBR list.

Yeah, I’m really hoping we’ll get something else from Gunslinger Girl because it was quite a unique read. Yes, so much yes to Warrior and Ravens!

I didn’t finish The Loneliest Girl in the Universe when I last picked it up… now I’m concerned… is it super cliffhanger-y?

Yasss Rainbow Rowell needs to do this or a novella. I’ll take anything that gives me more Levi.
