My Favourite Audiobooks #1

Hey everyone! I thought it would be interesting to let you guys know my favourites audiobooks. You see I live in the subburbs and work in the city so my drive to work can take me up to 2 hours each morning and evening, so what better way to pass the time then to listen to some amazing books (plus it really helps me try to manage my TBR)

So here is the first 5, there is no particular order to these:

My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
I wasn’t really interested in this book when I first got it, I have no excuse it was a really bad decision on my part to wait so long before reading it. It’s now one of my favourite. I was blown away by the audiobook. It’s read by the fabulous Katherine Kellgren who is one of my favourite readers. She was brilliant in her rendering of this book.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
My heart fills with so much joy everytime I think of this book. The audiobook is really fun, the narrator does a couple voices which is always fun. But what really makes for a good audiobooks is an amazing story and this is just that.

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
Ok, ok, I know I am not bias in this but what can I say I love this book and it’s getting on any list I make. But this audio is truly good. If you are put off by the format of Nevernight and Godsgrave I suggest you try the audiobook. There are a lot of footnotes in these books and they are well incorparated in the audio version so that it doesn’t bring you out of the story like reading it might.

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence
I think I have a thing for books with little girls learning to be assassins. This books is amazing, ok I get that I say this a lot but this one is really amazing. I just have two words:  assassin nuns! What are you waiting for.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
Laini Taylor’s writing is so beautiful, it’s very lyrical so beware if it’s not your thing. It hads a certain quality to the story to have someone narrate the book when it’s closer to a fairytale.

5 books longer

Have you listened to any of these? What are your favourite audiobooks?

  1. I was actually just wondering how an audiobook of Nevernight might work. I am reading it in print right now, but I may listen to the audiobook in the future. I also wonder how the Illuminae series worked as an audiobook, I may have to listen to those as well just to find out. I love audiobooks and can’t wait for more posts like these from you.
