Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, we decide to share with you our favourite romantic movies.
Pride and Prejudice (BBC Version Only)
Even though this film clocks in at OVER five hours, I’ve still seen the entirety of this mini-series many times. I remember purchasing it for a stupid amount of money on VHS (yes, I’m old! MOVE ON lol). I am way too bias to enjoy any other version of this story, I think it was perfection. Casting is amazing and oh! Colin Firth and his white shirt 😉
Ever After: A Cinderella Story
My hearts melts just thinking about this film. I was a huge Drew Barrymore fan back in the day and this is still my favorite movie of hers. You get a sassy, intelligent and strong Cinderella and a very swoony worthy romance.
Dirty Dancing
“No one puts Baby in the Corner.” I mean come on, what’s not to love about this one? Yes, it’s 80s cheese but in the best way possible.
As Good As It Gets
Some people might think this one is an odd pick but I adore Jack Nicholson and I love all these flawed oddballs that are just trying to make it through life and making all kinds of mistakes along the way. The romance is sweet, messy and real.
Bridget Jones’s Diary
This might be my all time favorite romantic comedy. I mean it has chubby little Renee (she’s looks amazing) and her love interests are Colin Firth and Hugh Grant? YES PLEASE! Highlight of this film for me is Mark and Daniel on the street kicking and punching each other over Bridget. Such a feel good movie.
Honorable Mentions: Clueless, Never Been Kissed, While You Were Sleeping, Lost in Austenland
Pride and Prejudice (BBC mini series from 1995)
I love anything by Jane Austen and my all time favourite of hers is Pride and Prejudice. I’ve ssen a couple versions of Pride and Prejudice but for me the one with Colin Firth is best. Plus the scene where he gets out of the pond with his yet shirt doesn’t hurt (wink wink!)
Persuasion (1995)
Here is another adaptation of a Jane Austen book. Even if my favourite is Pride and Prejudice, this one comes almost close to it.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I think this movie is stunning. The way it was shot is so artistic and the story is so beautiful.
Amelie
This is one of my all time favourite movies. It’s absolutely beautiful and makes you feel so optimistic. The story of how these two characters meet is just so cute.
Dirty Dancing
This is a movie that I watched over and over when I was a kid and I do continue to watch even to this day. I just love their relationship and who didn’t dream to learn how to dance with Patrick Swayze.
Honorable Mentions: Pretty in Pink, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Love Actually, Silver Linings Playbook.
Did we mention any of your favorites in this list? If not, what are some of the ones you love watching around the Valentine’s Day?
Dirty Dancing is iconic!

I started watching Amelie but then gave up as it was so slow. Maybe I should give it a try again.

That’s too bad. I just find it to be magical. It’s a movie that when I finish I feel good about life and the world lol if that makes sense.
