Hey guys! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, which is currently being run by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. We knew instantly that we wanted to take part in this weekly meme because both of us love making list, so this is perfect!
This week’s (January 22nd, 2019) topic is: Books We Meant to Read in 2018, But We Didn’t Get To.
Since there are two of us running this blog (Melanie and Mireille), we’re going to break these memes up between us and each pick five!
Oh god, just five? My shame knows no bounds when it comes to this topic.
The Wood by Chelsea Bobulski
I’ve been dying to read this ever since I found out of it’s existence. The cover is stunning, the story sounds like it was made for, so why haven’t I freaking read this yet!
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Mirielle pretty much hates this book but other people I know love it, so I have to give it a shot. Even though I don’t read light contemporary often, I do love me some geeky chicks.
Not Even Bones (Market of Monsters #1) by Rebecca Schaeffer
What is my life where I haven’t read this yet? I mean this was in my very top anticipated list last year, so of course I bought it right away and let it sit on my shelf. UGH why am I like this?!?!!?
Sawkill Girls by Clare LeGrande
I’m still mad at myself for not reading this one, I refuse to even talk about it!
Wildcard (Warcross #2) by Marie Lu
This sat on my TBR shelf, by my bed for a few months now. I will get to this soon and to my reread of Warcross.
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
This was a group read back in Spring of 2018 for TBR and Beyond but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get to it in time. I still have it in my TBR and will try to get it read before the end of this year. Still really excited for it.
Grim Lovelies by Megan Shepherd
This was one of my most anticipated release last year and I’m so disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to get to it earlier. I will though this Winter.
Gunslinger Girl by Lyndsay Ely
Yet another group read that I jusy didn’t get to. I have about 20% of this one read, unfotunately I had to jump to another book to keep on track.
Heretics Anonymous by Katie Henry
Guess what? This was a group read, again. I sometimes have horrible reading months because life gets in the way. I have about 10% on this one done, will have it read by the end of the year.
A Touch of Gold by Annie Sullivan
OK this one I am mad at myself for. I was going to read this in November and unfortunately my day job got in the way of my reading big time. So this Spring I will have this one done for sure.
Do you guys have any of these on your TBR? What books didn’t you get a chance to read in 2018?
In retrospect Wildcard probably should be on my list as well… I feel like I’d kind of forgotten all about Warcross, is that terrible? Hope you get a chance to read everything on your list this year!

I keep forgetting about it too. I did really enjoy it but I just keep forgetting, it’s prob why it’s still on my list lol

Can I shame Mir for her picks? Haha. I still need to read Gunslinger Girl too. I say this as I hide…

Wildcard for sure- that one made my list as well- and The Wood is another one I wanted to read and got sidetracked from somehow!

it’s so easy to do. I have over 500 books unread on my shelves right now – things get pushed back all the time for no real reason.

I still need to read “A Touch of Gold” (love the publishing house, Blink), but did manage to read “Wildcard,” a duo that’s fast-paced and entertaining. Thanks so much for the Finding Wonderland visit – hope you both enjoy your respective must-reads! 🙂

I loved A Touch of Gold, would highly recommend and the author is so lovely. Oh good, I’m hoping it will be a nice, fast pick-me-up kind of read!

The Wood looks sufficiently creepy to attract my attention. Happy Reading…when you get to them!

Yeah, I randomly saw it at a bookstore and knew it needed to be on my shelf.

Creep-factor is definitely high for it, I am kind of a cover snob and totally judge books by their covers, but shhh, don’t tell anyone because we are not supposed to do that.
Here’s the link to my post, thank you! https://allthebookblognamesaretaken.blogspot.com/2019/01/top-ten-tuesday-38.html

I really enjoyed Eliza and Her Monsters! I really love books that involve art and/music. I don’t know why? They’re just so enjoyable!
I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT THAT WARCROSS IS A DUOLOGY????? I’VE BEEN NOT READING BOOK 1 BECAUSE I WAS ALL; “I’m gonna wait ’till all the books in the series are out so that I can binge read them and not be brutally murdered by any cliffhangers!”
I was a fool. Now I’m going to buy Wildcard and devour them. Marie Lu is an amazing writer and I will read whatever she writes!
Grim Lovelies is sitting on my shelf looking at me. Waiting…..
It sound SO GOOD! Animals that are turned into people?? Heck yes! Paris with an underground magic society?? YES PLEASE!
Happy Reading to you both!! ❤

Wildcard was one of my favorite books from last year. I bought Sawkill Girls and A Touch of Gold (on sale) but I haven’t read them yet. I just can’t pass up an interesting looking book when it goes on sale for $2 or $3!

Ha, for once I don’t have to see ALL the books of my TBR in a post! 😛
Sawkill Girls, and Gunslinger Girl are the only ones I own and haven’t read yet. The latter I only bought in December so.. not too bad. 😛 And I read Wildcard already, yay! Usually I’m the worst with sequels, but I was way eager to read that one apparently? Why can’t I be like that with all sequels..
